Be the first to shape our environmental and sustainability agenda in a brand-new role created to lead Multipanel UK's response to some of the biggest regulatory and environmental challenges facing UK manufacturing today.

    Full job description

Join Multipanel - the UK's only manufacturer of Aluminium Composite Material - and help us build a brand-new sustainability function from day one.

We are looking for a graduate who is passionate about the environment and sustainability, and who wants to build a career with real, visible impact in a growing, innovative UK manufacturer. If you are analytical, driven, and excited by the idea of shaping something new, we would love to hear from you

Be the first to shape our environmental and sustainability agenda in a brand-new role created to lead Multipanel UK's response to some of the biggest regulatory and environmental challenges facing UK manufacturing today.

From EU and UK Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) compliance, to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Packaging Waste Regulations (PPWR), to the development of a first-of-its-kind end-of-life recycling scheme for our Aluminium Composite Panels, this role puts you at the centre of a genuinely new function within the business.

As our Graduate Trainee Environmental & Sustainability Manager, you will work closely with our Commercial Director and colleagues across procurement, production, and sales, turning complex legislation into practical action. This is a rare opportunity for a graduate to build something from the ground up and see your work shape our environmental credentials and commercial success.

    What Will You Be Doing?

Supporting compliance with EU and UK CBAM regulations, including supplier engagement and carbon reporting.

Helping to own our EPR and PPWR compliance programme, from data collection to registration and reporting.

Playing a key role in developing our new ACP end-of-life recycling scheme, from take-back programme design to recycling partner relationships.

Contributing to our carbon footprint baseline, reduction initiatives, and pursuit of ISO 14001 and other accreditations.

Researching and horizon-scanning emerging environmental legislation, such as the EU Digital Product Passport.

Engaging with regulators, industry bodies, and trade associations to represent Multipanel UK's interests.

    Requirements

    • Graduate-level candidates early in their career.
    • A genuine interest in environmental legislation, sustainability, or the circular economy.
    • Analytical and detail-focused, comfortable researching and interpreting regulations.
    • Confident communicator, able to work across teams and with external partners.
    • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
    • Awareness of CBAM, EPR, PPWR, or ISO 14001 is an advantage but not essential.

    Benefits

    • £28,000 starting salary.
    • Support to build your knowledge in environmental compliance, sustainability reporting, and regulatory frameworks.
    • 20 days holiday + bank holidays (rising with service).
    • Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme & Employee Assistance Programme.
    • Free parking, IT equipment, and employee initiatives.
