Multipanel UK joined fellow ALFED members and industry leaders at the Aluminium Federation’s annual briefing, which focused on long-term investment in British manufacturing.

Multipanel UK, a member of the Aluminium Federation (ALFED), was among the Made in Britain-accredited manufacturers at the 2026 ALFED Business Briefing, held on Thursday 24 September at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The event brought together manufacturers and industry leaders to look at the risks, resilience and opportunities facing the UK aluminium sector.

The opening keynote came from John Pearce, Chief Executive of Made in Britain. He encouraged manufacturers to “think in decades, not days” when making investment decisions, and said the ambition should be growth rather than simply resilience. Emma Swann, Managing Director of BOAL UK, made a similar case for investing now in skills, expertise and productive capacity, so that Britain keeps the ability to compete in international markets.

ALFED’s CEO, Nadine Bloxsome, said the sector needs conditions that give businesses the confidence to invest, grow and retain skills in the UK. She pointed to competitiveness, skills, energy and investment as the areas where today’s decisions will have long-term consequences. The briefing also noted that aluminium’s ability to be recycled repeatedly is becoming increasingly important.

Daniel Edwards, Commercial Director at Multipanel UK, said: “Being an ALFED member gives us a direct line to specialists across the UK aluminium industry. The briefing’s message on long-term investment is one we recognise. We manufacture in the UK, but our supply chain and our customers are international, so keeping the skills and production capability here, and staying competitive in global markets, takes a commitment measured in years rather than months.”

Multipanel UK manufactures Alupanel, the only brand of aluminium composite panel (ACP) made in the UK, at its Dover site for the Sign, Display, Print and Corporate ID markets. The company also offers a Closed Loop Recycling Scheme for ACP.
